pink star from Carol Doak book

Col asked to see what I was working on today, so here it is. I agreed - months and months ago - to do 12 blocks for an exchange. At the time I had a year; now we're down to (::counting::) three months. I did start something else last month and I hated it. (It was this. Yeah, I know it doesn't look that bad, but it had problems.) These are supposed to be Christmas blocks - the rules are that you can use cranberry and any shade of pink, and green; and it has to be a star block of a certain size, and it has to be made of batiks. You may notice that this block has gold in it - I just found out a couple of weeks ago that we could use "dull gold" and that's when it finally came together for me. This is still a very very pink block, but I like it.
I don't have much more to report, really. Life has just been plugging along. The most exciting thing is that we make the last payment on our once-huge debt next week! (Which is not to say that we are completely out of debt, unfortunately. But we're a helluva lot better off than we were.) I am still spending a ton of time playing GuildWars, but their servers have been wonky the last couple of days, and I have actually spent some time online at home that did not involve game-playing, for the first time in a couple of months. Amazing!
